TRAINING INSTITUTE

The Fred Finch Youth Center Institute provides high-quality training to people who provide care for foster children at no cost to the individual or organization.  The FFYC Institute provides training steeped in core FFYC values including:

  •  Welcoming: all persons seeking services or care, including welcoming their unique and complex presentation
  •  Respecting: Treat each individual and family with respect, compassion, and unconditional high regard
  •  Honoring: Provide services which capitalize on individual strengths and talents
  •  Empathy: Ensure services are youth and family centered
  •  Caring: Demonstrate cultural competence and valuing of diversity
  •  Evaluating: Make a positive difference for youth and families

COURSE OFFERINGS ARE DESIGNED TO:

  •  Increase individual competence in areas of systemic and systematic intervention, cultural competence, co-occurring capacity,
  •  Increase provider capacity for innovative, evidence based practice approaches; quality assurance and improvement; and accurate service infrastructure including, for example, maintenance of client records.

Trainings are open to the public; any person providing care to foster children or youth may attend at no cost.

Groups may request FFYC Institute trainers to provide on-site instruction. At times, FFYC Institute staff may be able to design training specific to a group or organizations needs.
