At Fred Finch Youth Center, we believe in each young person and family we meet.

Founded in 1891, FFYC has been a leader for more than a hundred years in developing and delivering effective, respectful, culturally competent services to young people and their families.

Located throughout California, Fred Finch Youth Centers provides: 

  •  provides treatment, education and support
  •  promotes wellness, recovery and discovery
  •  pursues excellence, innovation and collaboration

to assist young people challenged by mental illness, developmental disability, trauma, loss, homelessness, and/or poverty to build successful, fulfilling lives.

From its initial beginnings in Oakland, California, the agency has grown to provide services throughout the Greater San Francisco Bay Area and in the San Diego Region.

An array of services are available to meet the needs of young children, youth, young adults and families who face multiple and complex challenges. Each has a mental or emotional impairment and some also have a developmental delay. Many have experienced trauma and abuse, some at a very young age; live at or below the poverty line; have been institutionalized or incarcerated, or have a family member who has been involved in the criminal justice system; have histories of substance abuse either by self or through their family and have experienced exclusion, discrimination and stigma.
